Naomi Samon, Storylogick, B2B SaaS Copywriting Services

Hi, I’m Naomi, a SaaS copywriter & messaging strategist.

I studied the power of free indirect discourse and the musings of Roland Barthes at Brandeis University on the outskirts of Boston. And after briefly considering a career in the ivory tower, I stumbled headfirst into the quirky world of copywriting.

When I moved to Startup Nation at the end of 2017, I found myself a rare English native and dilettantish littéraire smack dab in the middle of one of the world’s most vibrant tech scenes. I took advantage of the opportunity and joined an up-and-coming startup.

As luck would have it, this particular startup believed in the power of data.

We. Tested. Everything.

And when I say everything, I mean everything. Not only did we test headlines and button copy, but we tested whether the clickthrough rate was higher with a blond or a redhead. (P.S. It was always the redhead!)

That’s how I really rediscovered the power of storytelling.

So here I am, marrying my love for all things literary with the world of big data and B2B marketing. Elevating advertising from a click-bait phenomenon to a search for higher truths.

That is to say that when I market to your users, I try to see what really makes them tick.

I reach down below the surface to capture the stories that really matter–the basic need for human dignity, our innate desire to control the environment around us, a slowly dissipating dream.

Because ultimately stories that matter don’t just drive extraordinary performance. They build a brand worth believing in.

TL;DR

Qualifications

I am a proud student of Copyhacker’s Copy School.
I’ve run hundreds of A/B tests on real campaigns (and generated millions of dollars and 10,000+ MQLs because of them)
I worked at a beanbag-studded SaaS unicorn both pre- and post-IPO. And a Y-Combinator company. The “save-the-world” hype is overrated. But the bean bag chairs are not.
I’ve crafted messaging that earned the emails of C-suite and director-level executives at FedEx, Mattel, Intel, SAP, Pepsi, Red Bull, FujiFilm, Brother, Koch Industries, AT&T, and dozens of other $1B companies.

Fun Facts

I was born in the middle of a snowstorm in Buffalo, NY, but I’ve since migrated to the sun-soaked Mediterranean coastal city of Tel Aviv
My signature dish is acorn squash ravioli with a black garlic butter sauce
I love salsa dancing…and I fantasize about one day dancing Rueda on the streets of Cuba
I once recited 613 digits of pi to win a March 14th contest in my 10th-grade geometry class (and got my name on a plaque)
I got my Sylvia Plath moment in 2014 when I did my year abroad at Oxford University

Making the magic happen for you

Since my humble beginnings spinning up SEO pieces for pennies, I’ve worked on all things acquisition. From social ads to messaging for massive ABM-driven lead generation campaigns, I’ve done it all, from scrappy startups to $1M-a-month marketing machines.

And while my techniques may have evolved, my basic philosophy stays the same:

Invest heavily in qualitative and quantitative customer research
Focus on telling a good story
Relentlessly optimize performance

In other words, I combine the best tools art and science have to offer in the pursuit of perfection. I won’t let my imagination cloud my better judgment. But neither do I entirely limit myself to the world of clicks and conversions.

I live in both worlds.

Because in marketing, that’s where the magic really happens.
